The Waltz Street Journal was born in 1984 or so, when, as a new Arthur Murray Franchisee in Las Vegas, NV, I designed our monthly Calendar of Events and Newsletter on a plain sheet of legal paper, with fine tip markers, plastic alphabet templates, hand-drawn pictures, and lots of white-out (it was then in a bottle with a brush to lather over your mistakes with - you could brush out highway signs with that baby)!
That incarnation of the newsletter lasted quite a few years until I "retired" from the studio to raise my daughter. When I "unretired" I brought the WSJ back with me, and this time, with the benefit of new desktop publishing technology, I was able to create a gorgeous in-studio Newsletter, in glorious color, with photos, different fonts, pictures, links to websites, places to go dance and all sorts of fun stuff.
It's now time to take the Waltz Street Journal to a different place, and here is the result! I don't know anything about blogs, but I do know ballroom dancing, and music. And so, hang in there with me as I slowly but surely learn my way around this blogosphere! I promise to introduce you to some new music and/or dances, teach you something about social dancing, tell you all about fabulous places you can go dancing, do a little reminiscing, tell a few stories, make you laugh, and maybe even make you cry. I'll include some links to some of my favorite dance videos whether they are about the music, the dancing, or both! We'll also go around the country to check out some must-go-dancing spots for your bucket list. We'll have fun, I promise!
